The Untethered Soul
Michael Singer
This is one of those books that you read and feel compelled to share with others. I felt a deep desire for personal change on completing this beauty and rushed out to send it to some people I loved.
“Eventually you will see that the real cause of problem is not life itself. It's the commotion the mind makes about life that really causes the problems.”
The books is about learning to untie from the ego. There are moments when reading it that I felt something shift. I felt like the penny had dropped more in the way he delivered the news than with any other book that had come my way before.
“What does it feel like to identify more with Spirit than with form? You used to walk around feeling anxiety and tension; now you walk around feeling love. You just feel love for no reason. Your backdrop is love. Your backdrop is openness, beauty, and appreciation. You don’t make yourself feel that way; that is how Spirit feels … You don’t claim to understand what is happening to you; you just know that as you go further and further back, it gets more and more beautiful.”
Singer is relatable, human and funny. He doesn’t make the concepts in this brave book feel lofty, but makes the spiritual essence accessible to all.
Go get this book and savour it.. maybe not just once, but twice to mop up the missed magic from the first sitting.
